As part of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's new plan, criminals who commit sexual assault and abuse will be sentenced to lifelong imprisonment.
According to the Prime Minister's statement, under Sunak's new plan, murderers with a monstrous sense of duty and those who commit murders involving rape will not be granted any form of exemption.
Under the plan, judges would be empowered to impose lifelong sentences without parole and minimum terms.
Sunak stated that society expects individuals who commit such crimes to remain in prison for life.
“Lifelong imprisonment will truly be a punishment for criminals involved in sadistic behavior and sexual assault,” said Justice Minister Alex Chalk.
According to the press release, the practices implemented by Conservative Party governments since 2010 have resulted in a 46% reduction in violent incidents and a 51% decline in crime.
